FAQs

We get these questions on a weekly basis. Our goal is to give you a place to go for the frequently asked questions we get from our customers. Please read the list below. If you have other questions this list does not address then please reach out to us via our contact page. Thank you.

What is the breed of your cows?

Our cows are all Angus Crosses. We have numerous crosses that we like, but the majority are Angus/Hereford cross or Angus/Simmental cross. These crosses thrive on our rotational pastures and produce a high quality of meat.

What are the breeds of your pigs?

Our pigs are a "farm cross." We cross Gloucester Old Spot, Berkshire, Red Wattle, and Mangalitsa pigs to create a cross pig that is perfect for our farm.  Our cross forages well, is docile, can thrive in the outdoors, and produces high quality meat and fat.

What is the breed of your chickens?

We prefer Golden Comet laying hens. They produce 5-6 brown eggs a week, are docile, and forage well.

Are your cows grass-fed?

Our animals are not 100% grass fed, as we live in a climate that only has grass 7 months out of the year. Our animals are on rotational pastures 365 days a year and we supplement a portion of their diet with Heirloom Feeds, which is an antibiotic free, hormone free, and soy free feed that we developed. This allows for a more hybrid model focused on health and quality of the animal, the consumer, and our environment.

What are your farming practices?

Our farm sits on 40 acres. All of our animals are rotated on pasture 365 days a year and supplemented with our Antibiotic Free, Hormone Free, and Soy Free feed. Our animals have access to shelter to get out of the elements if they choose, but most months they spend 24 hrs a day enjoying all that mother nature has to offer.

Do you have eggs in stock?

Our Pasture Raised eggs are available Spring-Fall in our farm stand. They are first come first serve and sell out weekly. We do not use artificial lighting so our chickens do not produce much in the colder months as day light hours dwindle.

How does the farm stand work?

Our self-service Farm Stand is open Fridays and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. year round. We only sell what we raise here on the farm so items do change and sell out but we are processing animals every few months. Our website has menus updated weekly and everything is sold by the package rather than the pound. So on the front of each box in our freezers you will see a number and that is the price per package. You total everything up and you can pay either cash check PayPal venmo or credit card. There are QR codes that you can scan in the Farm Stand to pay if you wish. What is dry-aged beef? And what is the process?

Dry aging is a process where beef is stored in a controlled environment for several weeks. This allows natural enzymes to break down the meat's fibers, enhancing its flavor and tenderness. The beef is kept at a low temperature and humidity, which helps it develop a rich, concentrated taste.  Our Dry Aged beef is is done in a USDA facility for 30 days before cut into steaks.
